I drove a friend's Mercedes CLK 500 today from New York to Boston. I was easily seduced by the elegant interior, effortless driving, and practical design of this car. I was not a big fan of the C class until today, but that quickly changed with this experience. More fodder for my occasional belief that a Mercedes is a mandatory accoutrement of a gentleman. Never mind that the reliability and quality is inferior to the Japanese competitors or that some other brands are reputed to be more fun to drive, to say nothing of the price.
